Project Description 4th grade students at Metairie Academy recently participated in an archaeology project with the historic Gallier House and utilized technology throughout the project. First archaeologists visited the school and taught the students about archaeology terminology and techniques. A tour of the 150 year old Gallier House was also a part of the project. Then students participated in an archaeological dig. They used a blog to record and share their observations, reflections, theories, and concepts learned. They also took digital still pictures, captured videos with Flip video cameras, and tweeted using mobile Twitter on the ipod Touch to document their experiences.
